    Active Positions

    Position Description:

    • Lead a 3–5-member team of generation interconnection engineers in performing and supporting grid interconnection studies, interconnection application support, steady state, short circuit and dynamic modeling of resources, Voltage Ride-Through (VRT) tests and model testing/validation studies.
    • Oversee technical power flow studies and submission of generation and load interconnection applications for different customers ensuring technical data verification and sufficiency at various stages across ISO/RTO markets such as ERCOT, CAISO, MISO, PJM, SPP, WECC and SERC and other regions, as required.
    • Oversee all technical deliverables associated with Model Quality Test (MQT) packages in Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid and associated QSA requirements.
    • Lead and manage transmission injection/feasibility study projects, from scoping to final deliverables/reports, including QA/QC and discussion with clients. Supervise the dynamic modeling of various generation technologies including but not limited to wind, solar, battery energy storage, conventional generation and large load facilities, to meet the modeling requirements for various regions to support the interconnection studies in PSS/e and PSCAD-EMTDC.
    • Manage generation feasibility assessments and replication of system impact studies in markets such as ERCOT, CAISO, PJM and SPP, in particular.
    • Lead the team of engineers in performing load deliverability studies in various ISO/RTO markets based on the regional criteria for load deliverability.
    • Lead the team of engineers to perform interconnection studies for electric utility clients for large load integration along with identifying new transmission solutions needed to reliably integrate the proposed load into the grid based on the regional reliability criteria.
    • Mentor and grow the team of engineers to support the delivery of services contemplated within the IPP Advisory service.
    • Work with clients to understand the project needs, draft statements of work and business proposals to support the business development team on the technical aspects of the proposals.
    • Attend conferences, client meetings and support other travel, as required for the projects.

    Qualifications:

    • Masters in power systems with at least 3 years of experience in power system planning, system modeling and grid code compliance studies must for this position
    • Atleast 2 years of experience as a team lead on grid integration efforts is required for this position
    • Working knowledge of PSS/e, PSCAD-EMTDC, PowerWorld Simulator, ETAP, TSAT and ASPEN Oneliner is preferred for this position

    Position Description:

    The responsibilities of this role include:

    • Work within a team of transmission planning and generation interconnection engineers in performing transmission planning, grid reliability, grid interconnection and advanced power system studies to support grid integration of emerging technologies.
    • Work on generation interconnection process in different ISO/RTO markets such as, but not limited to, ERCOT, SPP, MISO, PJM, CAISO, SERC, ISO-NE, NYISO, TVA, SOCO including:
    • Preparing presentations for the regional interconnection process

    Position Description:

    This position will be responsible for:

    • Serve as a subject matter expert and perform comprehensive transmission planning studies including but not limited to full interconnection studies (associated with renewable, storage and emerging technologies), annual planning studies, NERC compliance studies, small signal stability studies, SSR evaluations, power quality and EMT studies.
    • Perform interconnection studies for electric utility clients along with identifying new transmission solutions needed to reliably integrate the proposed technology into the grid based on the regional reliability criteria.
    • Assist broader EEPLUS team in performing transmission origination, evaluation and recommendation studies for utility clients in order to meet regional reliability criteria, including but not limited to providing technical support during the stakeholder review process.
    • Grow into serving as subject matter expert on all aspects of grid integration of large loads and the associated interconnection processes and procedures across all major ISO/RTO markets across the US.
    • Work with and support a team of engineers to perform grid integration studies associated with emerging technologies and large load interconnections for both customers as well as electric utilities. Basic studies are expected to include steady state studies, contingency analysis, motor starting studies and transient stability studies.
    • Work closely with potential customers ranging from data centers, crypto-mining facilities, O&G electrification facilities, hydrogen electrolyzer facilities, EV firms, LNG facilities to guide them through the emerging grid-code compliance guidelines in their relevant ISO/RTO markets.
    • Represent large load clients at ISO/RTO stakeholder meetings in technical discussions around grid-code compliance policy discussions.
    • Support in performing more advanced power system studies to support the design and engineering of large load facilities including but not limited to harmonic analysis, transient over-voltage (TOV) studies, Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) studies, voltage-ride through (VRT) compliance studies, ramp rate compliance studies, voltage flicker assessments, switching over-voltage assessments and insulation coordination studies.
